My new adventures

Hello my fellow Hitchers!
So much has been going on since the last time I posted, I honestly am still taking it all in.

Last weekend I went to my friend's B-day party in PA, I wanted to bring something along with me ( cause you know, my Mama raised me right!) So I went looking for a recipe for something different and fun, in my searching I stumbled upon a blog from Bakerella and Baked Perfection, they both had something called Brownie Pops... OMG...They were to DIE FOR!!!!! Everyone at the party LOVED them, and I even had to smuggle a few away to give to my friend at church the next day!! Needless to say, everybody was asking me for the recipe and I promised to enclose the link here, so here it is http://www.bakerella.blogspot.com/ and http://www.bakedperfection.blogspot.com/  when you go on, search out brownie pops, these are really great blogs, that always have new and yummy treats! Enjoy!!!

So onto my second surprise of the week.. Last week I recieved an e-mail from Sharon Naylor Toris, she is a wedding expert who has written over 30 books, she is a guest writer for Brides Magazine, and has been a guest on numerous television shows all revloving around weddings. So back to the e-mail... I recieved a letter letting me know that I had recieved a "Norah Award" it is an award given out to Wedding professionals who exemplifiy virtue and honor in the Bridal industry.http://www.norahawards.com/ ( our name will be added to the site soon)  Sharon decided to create the awards to honor those wedding proffesionals who do RIGHT by their clients, as opposed to all the corrupt ones in the wedding industry, you know, bridal shops who take $$ and never order the dress, florists who swap out roses for carnations, etc...  So right off the bat, I have to tell you, I double checked the e-mail to make sure she actually meant to include Barefoot to Black Tie Events because I was stunned to be recieving this news, as I never knew I was up for an award!!  Ever heard of  David Tutera???  Of course you have, yeah, he got one too!!! Needless to say I am HUMBLED and HONORED to have gotten this prestigious award. All I can say is GOD IS GOOD!!! THANK YOU to all of YOU who have supported us, I am BLESSED to know YOU and have YOU in  my life!!!

Until next time,
Denise

Confessions of a Wedding Planner

http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/planning-a-wedding/articles/confessions-of-wedding-planners.aspx
Happy 2010 Fellow Hitchers!!
I pray that your holidays were all that you wanted them to be! As the New Year starts I want to share an article I found on The Knot, it hit's the nail on the head and to be totally honest it is quite funny, especially to us planners who have encountered any of these issues. This is just for fun, but holds true at the same time.
Just so you know, I haven't encountered any of these kind of brides... and hopefully won't, but I won't hold my breath..lol.

Until next time- Enjoy!

Winter Weddings

Picture this... It's a crisp cold night, the sky is midnight blue, the stars are crystal clear and the snow is gently falling with big flakes that come down in slow motion and when they finally reach the ground you can actually hear them land. That is what I've been thinking about lately... fabulous winter wonderlands, the ultimate winter wedding!!! Icy blue, creamy white, sparkly silver, crystals that are reminisant of icicles and candlelight everywhere... you know, where cold actually has a color but is warm and cozy at the same time? That is the kind of wedding I would LOVE to plan, it is all very magical and romantic, almost ethereal!!!

In tribute to my new found adoration of everything winter, I posted some  picks I would love for the occasion!!!

So what about you? What do you think? Are winter weddings "cool"? (no pun intended)
Maybe you've been a winter bride or know someone who has, let me know what you think, the pros and cons, your opinion is valued and appreciated!

Enjoy!
